Next week, Six On Your Side, Blue Cross of Idaho and Albertsons are all partnering together to celebrate the 13th Annual Community Baby Shower.

The aforementioned companies will collect donations for local nonprofits including Baby Steps.

Baby Steps Program Director Emily Cazier explains that it is an incentive-based program through St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Boise Idaho.

“We work with limited-income parents and teen moms. We provide classes in all different kinds of things and they earn points and can cash them in at our boutique,” said Cazier.

Baby Steps partners with different educational sponsors in the community like St. Luke, St. Alphonsus and the Central District Health Department. They come and teach subjects from nutrition to immunizations to car safety.

The Community Baby Shower is one week away and impacts the organization on a monumental level. This event alone funds the program for the whole year. 75% of the overall donations come from this baby shower.

“The moms are always really excited for the event,” said Cazier.

If you’re interested in donating to the Community Baby Shower, diapers from sizes three to six, baby clothes, strollers and carseats are all needed. Event volunteers are also always welcome.
