The fifth Democratic debate took place last night in Atlanta.

10 of the 17 presidential hopefuls went back and forth discussing a wide range of issues that included the Trump impeachment inquiries, healthcare, and taxes. While many of the candidates agreed on issues like climate change and environmentalism, trying to fix homelessness and affordable healthcare, there were a few key differences that stood out.

Former Vice President Joe Biden mentioned that many people did not want to give up their private insurance, which went against the “Medicare for All” plan Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Sen. Bernie Sanders had laid out.

Sen. Warren mentioned a wealth tax plan, where she would instill a 2 percent tax on all assets worth $50 million. Sen. Cory Booker says through his research on other countries, wealth taxes ultimately don’t work.

Many of the candidates made it a point to call out their distaste for President Trump and the role he’s been serving in office.

The Trump campaign took to Twitter to say that the candidates were “…short on solutions and heavy on their unhealthy obsession with taking down President Trump via an illegitimate coup.”

The next Democratic debate will be held December 19 at the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs in Los Angeles.
