Gators really like guac. It’s a little-known fact.

A Gainesville couple decided to have a nice date night out by Lake Alice when a very unexpected visitor showed up. Taylor Forte planned a special picnic spread for her fiancé Trevor Walters before he leaves for the Marines in ten weeks.

The couple were in shock when a gator crawled up onto the beach and directly into the couple’s romantic spot – right where all the food was. The gator then proceeded to have his way with their food. The couple sprinted away from their spot on the blanket.

According to Walters, “He annihilated an entire block of cheese – gobbled it down – lickety split! The salami didn’t stand a chance!”

But Walters says the real heartache came when the gator went for the homemade guacamole. “Then the worst part, he goes over to this big bowl of guac we made…he eats the WHOLE BOWL! He puts the whole bowl in his mouth and just ‘ahhhhh!'”

The thirsty alligator was able to wash down his lunch with a half a watermelon and a pound of grapes before going back into the water.

If you happen to come across a nuisance gator, call the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission hotline. They advise people to never feed a gator because chances are, they’ve already been fed.
