99 problems, but his wallet ain’t one.

Sean Carter, better known by his alias Jay-Z, is now officially the rap industry’s first billionaire. But as you may have guessed, the hip hop legend has other ventures that have paved the way for his current billionaire position to come to fruition.

Jay-Z has invested in real estate, liquor and ride-sharing companies like Uber – all of which have helped him amass his fortune. In addition to being an artist, Jay-Z has played a pivotal role in starting Roc-A-Fella Records, Roc Nation and Tidal. He was also the founder of Rocawear, a highly successful hip hop clothing business he sold for just over $200 million.

Rapper Swizz Beats commented on the 49-year-old rapper’s massive success, stating, “If he’s a billionaire now, imagine what he’s about to be. Because he’s only just starting.”

For anyone who follows the rapper, it’s no secret that Jay-Z is also big into the world of art. According to Forbes, Jay-Z’s art collection alone is worth upwards of $70 million. The real estate he’s invested in in New York and California is worth $50 million. In terms of his liquor ventures, Forbes has reported that he has over $400 million invested in D’USSE and Armand de Brignac.

It’s only a matter of time before HOV reaches his next milestone.
