Emergency managers say now is the time to make sure you have all the supplies you might need.

Gas is obviously becoming a hot commodity as people try to prepare for Dorian. Some places in Southwest Florida have already run out of gas. The Wawa gas station on Del Prado Blvd. and Pine Island Rd. in Cape Coral has been consistently busy this morning as people come to fill up their tanks before work.

Fortunately, this is one of the gas stations that actually has gasoline. There are a few stations in the area, even across the street, that are completely out of gas. This has prompted some individuals to bring gas canisters to fill up.

If you want to prepare your tank in the event of Hurricane Dorian, the morning is the best time to do so. Yesterday, there were long lines as people tried to get gas.

GasBuddy’s fuel availability tracker app is an efficient way to track to see where you can find fuel as you head into the weekend.

This is also a good time stock up on supplies like water, batteries, and nonperishable food. Several places, like a local Cape Coral 7-11, don’t have any more water bottles, so make sure you find the stores that are well-stocked before you head out to run these errands.
