The UK Prime Minister is self-isolating.

In an announcement on his personal Twitter on Friday morning, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that he has tested positive for coronavirus.

According to Johnson’s video, he has developed a fever and a persistent cough, and got himself tested on the urging of his chief medical officer, Chris Whitty.

“I’ve taken a test. That has come out positive,” he said. “And that’s entirely the right thing to do.”

Johnson is currently self-isolating at home and performing his duties remotely. In the event that Johnson becomes too sick to perform his duties as Prime Minister, he will be temporarily relieved by Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab. Johnson remains confident that the UK can beat back the virus, thanks in part to the convenience modern technology affords him.

“But be in no doubt that I can continue, thanks to the wizardry of modern technology, to communicate with all my top team to lead the national fightback against coronavirus,” he said.

Many government officials around the world have contracted the virus, though Johnson is one of the few heads of a government to get sick. Johnson’s infection has also called into question the health of Queen Elizabeth II, who met with Johnson in person on March 11.

“The Queen last saw the PM on the 11th March and is following all the appropriate advice with regards to her welfare,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement.
