The park will open at Disney’s California Adventure.

Since acquiring the Marvel brand and all of its properties, Disney has been gradually sprinkling the presence of iconic Marvel heroes like Spider-Man and the Avengers throughout its theme parks. However, while there were singular rides and attractions, there was no primary Marvel campus like the one for Star Wars at Disney World. This is due to change this summer when the Avenger’s Campus finally open’s at Disney’s California Adventure on June 4.

This massive new addition to Disneyland’s sister park will feature a variety of new rides, attractions, and eateries, all themed after the Avengers, as well as other notable Marvel heroes like Spider-Man, Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, and more. The main attraction of the campus will be “WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure,” an immersive 3D ride starring Spider-Man that will allow guests to “sling webs like Spider-Man and experience what it’s like to have super powers.”

Other notable features include recreations of Avengers Headquarters, Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum, and an Ant-Man-themed restaurant featuring a variety of bite-sized meals and snacks, including plant-based foods. Cast members dressed as heroes will make regular appearances around the park, with Spider-Man slated to flip high above the ground at regular intervals.

“We are so excited to soon welcome our guests to Avengers Campus, our first land dedicated to Super Heroes,” Ken Potrock, the president of Disneyland Resort, said in a statement. “Here, our cast members will unite to help guests of all ages find their super powers and create special memories.”

With any luck, the Avengers Campus will help California Adventure, as well as Disney’s parks division as a whole, recoup its steep financial losses resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. If any franchise could reinvigorate theme parks, it would be the $22 billion-grossing Avengers.
