Ryan Fischer spoke of his harrowing encounter.

Last week, singer/songwriter Lady Gaga had two of her dogs stolen after their walker, now identified as Hollywood local Ryan Fischer, was shot by two currently unidentified assailants. Yesterday, Fischer made his first public statement since the incident, posting several photos of himself recovering in the hospital to Instagram, as well as writing about the encounter.

“4 days ago, while a car sped away and blood poured from my gun shot wound, an angel trotted over and laid next to me. My panicked screams calmed as I looked at her, even though it registered that the blood pooling around her tiny body was my own,” Fischer wrote in an Instagram post, referring to a third dog he was walking.

“I cradled Asia as best I could, thanked her for all the incredible adventures we’d been on together, apologized that I couldn’t defend her brothers, and then resolved that I would still try to save them… and myself,” he said.

Fischer expressed gratitude to his family, those who have expressed concern for him, and Lady Gaga herself for worrying about him. According to hospital staff, he should make a full recovery.

“You have shown so much support throughout this whole crisis to both me and my family. But your support as a friend, despite your own traumatic loss from your kids, was unwavering. I love you and thank you,” he said to Lady Gaga.

Meanwhile, according to a report filed on Friday, Lady Gaga’s two stolen dogs, Koji and Gustav, were discovered by an anonymous woman and turned in at a local police station. After a brief veterinary examination, it was determined that both dogs were unharmed, and they were returned to Lady Gaga’s representatives. Lady Gaga herself re-stressed her promise of a $50,000 reward, though it is unknown if the anonymous woman has received it.
