A fan-favorite character will be returning.

Netflix has released a new teaser for the fourth season of their hit horror-mystery series, Stranger Things. The trailer briefly shows a railway workforce in Russia, working in cold temperatures and under armed guard. One of the workers removes his hat to reveal himself as Sheriff Jim Hopper (played by David Harbour), who was believed to have died at the end of season three. This was teased by a stinger in season three’s last episode when Russian guards were looking for prisoners to feed a monster from the Upside Down, but decided not to use “the American.”

Since its first season was released on the streaming platform, Stranger Things has become one of Netflix’s most prolific shows, with new seasons drawing high attention from social media. In fact, as of writing, hashtags and phrases like #Strangerthings, #Hopper, and “HOPPER IS ALIVE” are trending near the top on Twitter.

Season four is currently still filming, so there is no estimated release date as of yet. The writers and creators of Stranger Things, the Duffer Brothers, have stated in previous interviews that the show will likely end after either its fourth or fifth season. Whether the series will end after this next season is not yet known.
