Trump is unconcerned about any potential North Korean threats.

President Trump says he’s ready to take on any “Christmas gift” that could potentially come out of North Korea’s capital and largest city, Pyongyang.

“We’ll find out what the surprise is and we’ll deal with it very successfully,” is what Trump told reporters at his Mar-a-Lago resort. “Maybe it’s a nice present. Maybe it’s a present where he sends me a beautiful vase as opposed to a missile test.”

Reuters reports that earlier this month, North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un warned the White House of a “Christmas gift” he would potentially send. According to the story, Kim Jong-un is giving Washington until the end of the month “to propose new concessions in talks over his country’s nuclear arsenal and reducing tensions between the two long-time adversaries.”

U.S. military leaders say that Kim Jong-un could be referring to a long-range missile. North Korea suspended long-range missile tests and nuclear bomb tests in 2017. Despite talks of Kim Jong-un saying he would close a rocket-testing facility, North Korea has conducted several short-range missile tests there this year.

Reuters cites that Pyongyang says the tests were aimed at “restraining and overpowering the nuclear threat of the U.S.”
