Despite just launching days ago, the new service is already losing properties.

NBCUniversal and Comcast’s new streaming service, Peacock, launched earlier in the week. Despite some consumer frustrations due to the service not being available on Roku or Amazon Fire TV, reception has been positive, especially since the service has both free and paid options available. However, despite the fact that the service is less than a week old, word has already gone out that some of its catalog will be disappearing.

According to a Variety report, multiple big name movies will be departing the service at the end of the month. The movies that will be delisted include Fast & Furious, Shrek, The Blair Witch Project, and the entire Matrix and Jurassic Park trilogies, among others. Rotating available films and shows is a common practice in streaming service management, one that is held by both Netflix and Hulu. Nevertheless, some users are confused as to why the window of availability for these films is so small.

As it turns out, the small availability is due more to a technicality than anything. According to an NBCU spokesperson who spoke with Engadget, these films have been available for viewing since Peacock began its early access phase back in April, where certain Comcast subscribers were given a sneak preview of the service. The movies that are being delisted have technically been available since this soft launch about three months ago, so the window was technically much larger; it’s just that normal users couldn’t see it.

The spokesperson said that the delisted movies will return at some point, and that future listing cycles should last the proper length.
