Piracy has been a problem for the entertainment industry for… about as long as there’s been an entertainment industry, actually. Or at least as long as handheld video cameras have been around. Even in today’s world of instant access streaming, some shows just aren’t as easily available as some people would like. Or, for the shows that are on streaming services, some folks can’t afford to watch them (or don’t feel like paying up for them). No matter how you slice it, as long as there is television, there will likely continue to be piracy.

This past year has played host to many big ticket shows, almost every episode of which has found its way onto into the wild blue yonder of the internet. That’s the downside of digital media; it’s a lot easier to pirate shows in high quality, as opposed to back when you had to point a cassette camera at your TV set. According to an analysis of torrenting sites via comicbook.com, these are the ten shows that had the experienced the most illegal downloads or streams.

  1. The Walking Dead
  2. The Flash
  3. The Big Bang Theory
  4. Vikings
  5. Titans
  6. Arrow
  7. Supernatural
  8. Westworld
  9. DC’s Legends of Tomorrow
  10. Suits

Fun fact, the previous holder of the title of “most pirated show” was Game of Thrones. It seems, however, that pirate tastes were swinging more toward sci-fi and contemporary fantasy than traditional fantasy for 2018.
