Chinese business owners are not happy about the trade war.

In response to President Trump’s US trade war (mainly involving tariffs) with China, Chinese business owners are taking matters into their own hands by gouging prices on American tourists.

In what seems to be a wave of nationalist outrage, Chinese locals are charging Americans an extra 25% on top of the full value of their products.

Trump’s decision to increase US tariffs on Chinese imports is due to what he says are unfair practices and a longtime abuse of the broken international system lead by China.

Chinese business owners – from store manager to restaurateurs – have made announcements on public streets with megaphones, stating that all Americans must pay a 25% “tariff” if they wish to purchase anything.

The goal in all of this is for these citizens to display their support for the Chinese government by charging the same percentage of tariffs on Americans as the US is doing to China via the international trade war.

State TV has also begun featuring anti-American movies and made threats to the US through state-owned media. One Chinese anchor stated, “If they’re willing to talk, our door is wide open. If they want to fight, we will go all the way.”

Many people on both sides are hoping the trade war won’t escalate for the sake of global stability.
