That’s a whoooooole lot a’ burger.

You can have a free burger if you live in the Elma/Buffalo part of New York- that is, ONLY if you successfully complete the Elma Towne Grill Challenge. But this isn’t just a challenge that’s being used to boost the restaurant’s awareness for National Hamburger Day. You can participate in this challenge any day of the week.

So far, 170 people have competed in the challenge. The Elma Towne Grill either puts these winners or losers on the Wall of Fame or the Wall of Shame. The restaurant’s owner, Norm Bealer, and his partners are the ones who cook up the delicious burger. They say it’s one of the best you can get your hands (and mouth) on.

“No one’s ever cheated,” joked Bealer in regards to the challenge.

It all starts with six five-ounce burgers on the grill that are layered between a Constanza roll with onion rings and bacon. The usual tomatoes, lettuce and onions are also included. The challenge is also served up with two-and-a-half to three pounds of fries.

This huge meal sells for $24.95. If you can finish it within 45 minutes, you don’t have to pay (at least with money) and you’ll be enshrined on the Wall of Fame. But if you lose the challenge, you’ll pay the full price and your picture will be posted on the Wall of Shame.

“No one’s ever have to leave on a gurney,” said Bealer.
