AG Nessel called the lawsuit “outrageous.”

A group of over 100 GOP senators and lawmakers have joined in an effort to overturn the results of the United States Presidential Election. This effort is being spearheaded by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who intends to take a lawsuit to the United States Supreme Court alleging that four states won by President-Elect Joe Biden, specifically Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Wisconsin, altered their voting procedures in a manner that violates the Constitution. No concrete evidence of these claims has yet been provided.

Lawmakers from the states being targeted by this lawsuit have called out Paxton and his associates, saying that Texas has no right to meddle in the affairs of other states. Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has been especially vocal about the matter, saying that the case is “really one of the more outrageous that we’ve ever seen in the United States,” and adding that “Texas has no standing to disenfranchise the 5.5 million voters in the state of Michigan… there’s been no injury that’s been demonstrated to the state of Texas.”

Nessel has stressed that Michigan’s votes have already been tallied and certified, and multiple lawsuits claiming foul play, many spearheaded by legal personnel associated with President Donald Trump, have been dismissed due to a lack of evidence. “Texas has failed to identify a single voter who voted in Michigan who should not have,” Nessel said.

“It’s outrageous that they filed this and the fact that they would try to disenfranchise the 39 million people that live in these four states,” Nessel told CNN’s Erin Burnett. “It’s really disturbing.”

State elector meetings are already underway, with the official vote to be passed down on Monday. Barring any sudden deviations, it is expected that Joe Biden will officially be elected as the 46th President of the United States.
