The tagline of the event is “Peek Performance.”

Earlier this week, tech giant Apple began distributing press invitations for its next major reveal event. The event has the tagline of “Peek Performance,” and is slated to be livestreamed on YouTube and Apple’s website on March 8, this coming Tuesday. As has been the case since March of 2020, the event is still online only in the interest of COVID-19 pandemic safety.

While Apple themselves have not divulged any of their plans for reveals in this event, rumors of potential reveals have been making the rounds. One of the predominant theories is that Apple is planning on revealing a new model of iPhone, one intended for those who need a lower-cost smartphone but still want the latest features like 5G support. There are also rumors that Apple is developing a new model of iPad for midrange sales, one with generally improved specs over previous models but not too many new extraneous features.

If Apple is planning on releasing a new iPhone model, that could also be accompanied by a new version of iOS with some features that users have been requesting for a while. Such features would include improved facial recognition and better compatibility with contactless credit card payment systems.
