Osbourne announced he is no longer physically fit for long tours.

Several years ago, Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne officially postponed a 2019 tour after suffering a severe spinal injury, with matters complicated further by the COVID-19 pandemic. In the years since then, Osbourne has been making a slow recovery, stopping short of officially canceling the tour. Sadly, despite the long the wait, Ozzy simply doesn’t have it in him to be a touring performer anymore.

Ozzy announced today on his social profiles that not only is the tour finally being cancelled, but he has officially retired from touring altogether, citing various health complications that simply make the process too difficult.

“My singing voice is fine. However, after three operations, stem cell treatments, endless physical therapy sessions, and most recently groundbreaking Cybernics (HAL) Treatment, my body is still physically weak,” Ozzy wrote.

“I am honestly humbled by the way you’ve all patiently held onto your tickets for all this time, but in all good conscience, I have now come to the realization that I’m not physically capable of doing my upcoming European/UK tour dates, as I know I couldn’t deal with the travel required. Believe me when I say that the thought of disappointing my fans really F—- ME UP, more than you will ever know.”

Ozzy added that he and his team are considering ways to put on performances without requiring him to travel, but did not offer anything concrete. For the time being, he thanked his friends, family, and fans for their support, and noted that anyone who wants to get a refund for their tour ticket can do so at their point of purchase.
