If you have kids who were disappointed about not being able to see ‘Deadpool 2’ due to its R-rating, here’s a Christmas present for you.
A new trailer was released yesterday for ‘Once Upon a Deadpool,’ a special recut of the film intended for a PG-13 audience. The film features a variety of new gags and cutaways, which will likely be used in lieu of the numerous R-rated violence moments.
To aid in this endeavor, the studio has enlisted the age of former child film star Fred Savage. This is framed in the movie as Deadpool kidnapping Savage and placing him in a facsimile of the bedroom from ‘The Princess Bride’ in order to, in Deadpool’s own words, “filter [the movie] through the prism of childlike innocence.” Savage’s legs are also tapped to the bed, so he’s probably not getting out of this one.
The film will hit theaters on December 12th for a limited engagement run. Check your local listings to see if it’s playing near you.
