Jamon Buggs has gone from burglar to murderer in short order.

44-year-old fitness instructor Jamon Buggs of Huntington Beach has been charged with a double homicide after he allegedly took the lives of Costa Mesa mother Wendi Miller and former minor league hockey player Darren Partch.

Neighbors told news crews that Buggs was a personal trainer at the Equinox gym in Huntington Beach. When police went to arrest Buggs, they were shocked to find that their suspect was already in jail since Monday. He had been suspected of two separate burglaries.

The victims of the double murder were found Sunday night by a roommate. They had apparently met earlier that evening. Both victims died of gunshot wounds. In regards to the burglaries Buggs allegedly committed, Irvine Police found video surveillance of a man (whom they believe to be Buggs) in the middle of the act. In one of the burglaries, Buggs fires off a gunshot when the homeowner interrupted the crime. Nobody was hurt.

Neighbors say they knew something was wrong when police entered Buggs’ apartment with a search warrant. They suspected he may have been the man who killed both people. They also detailed that he was often heard arguing with different women inside his apartment.

Buggs’ arraignment is set for later today for the double homicide. It is unclear whether Buggs has an attorney. He is being held on $1,000,000 bail.
