Poshmark is a full-time gig for this Franklin entrepreneur.

Reducing waste is becoming a priority for many, and now a woman from Franklin, Massachusetts is following that lead and combining it with her passion for fashion to create a full-time job.

Jennifer Quinn appreciates classic and trendy fashions, but she struggles with the industry’s impact on the environment.

“Fast Fashion is something that’s really about putting an item on one, two, or three times, but what’s happening is that’s creating so much.”

To do her part, Quinn challenged herself to buy only used clothing, or “pre-loved” as she calls them, for a year.

“As I was doing this, I was seeing so many great pieces out there that weren’t necessarily my size, but I thought that they could have a second life,” said Quinn.

She started gathering items and selling them on the popular platform Poshmark.

“This dress retails for over $300 in the store,” she explained as she pulled out a piece. “I actually just sold this today,” she said about another.

Her clothes are such a hit, she quit her day job.

“Basically I like to say I have my own online boutique consignment store,” said Quinn.

She spends one day a week hunting through thrift shops. The rest of her operation runs out of the basement of her Franklin home. She carefully photographs items and ships them out as soon as they’re sold.

“I think this is a really great job for a lot of women who want to stay home and be with their children because you’re really able to become your own business owner, and own something that’s just truly yours,” said Quinn.
