The man behind Edward Cullen and Cedric Diggory has some thoughts on pay inequality.

Twilight star Robert Pattinson has proposed his own personal strategy to help balance the notorious wage gap between men and women in Hollywood: he’ll work for free, under the condition of working with a great actress.

In an interview Pattinson had with The Sunday Times, he said, “If it’s a question of me getting paid more and getting a worse actress, or me being paid less and getting a better actress, I’ll do it for f-ing free.”

Major Hollywood stars like Jennifer Lawrence, Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, and Michelle Williams have spoken out about their male co-stars getting paid disproportionately more than they did – sometimes by the millions. Henson said producers made excuses about the wage gap when they offered less than the actress’s asking price for her Academy Award-winning role in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Henson says she was told that this was because she wasn’t as big of a show-opener as her male counterpart Brad Pitt. Michelle Williams said she was paid eight times less than Mark Wahlberg for All the Money in the World.

But now, more males are speaking out about the inequality in pay. Pattinson has also been doing his part to help make the movie industry less sexist, given the latest “Me Too” movement that’s been running rampant in Hollywood. For his latest movie, The King, he signed a behavioral contract.
