Two down-on-their-luck fans received the gift of a lifetime.

Earlier in the week, one miss Samantha Jacobson, a cocktail server working at Disney World in Orlando, Florida, expressed disappointment on her Tumblr that she could not afford to donate to Feeding America, a charity recommended by Taylor Swift. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, her job has been shuttered for at least a month, and she was having trouble making ends meet.

“I wish so badly that I could donate to the link Taylor provided but because of COVID-19 my job, my only source of income, is closed for a minimum of 30 days. I have no job, no income, no way to pay my bills rn. If anyone happens to be able to donate and has it in their hearts to do so, anything really really helps with bills right now.”

Apparently, this story made its way back to Swift herself, who reached out to Jacobson and, in an impressive act of generosity, gifted her $3,000 through PayPal. Jacobson, who has been a fan of Swift’s for over a decade and has met her in person previously, gushed about the gift on Twitter.

Not too long after this, Swift donated another $3,000 to Holly Turner, a music photographer and graphic designer who was concerned about losing her home in New York City due to lack of work.

In a quote to Entertainment Weekly, Turner expressed her gratitude to Swift. “I have been working my entire life to be able to live in New York City and I thought that was going to be taken, and she saved that for me. So, I am just so, so, so grateful.”
